This is a 2 day in-person interactive conference, where we we will connect through collaborative discussions, cohort breakout sessions, and informative speakers.  Note: This is an in-person event.  Please only register if you will attend in person.

There is no registration fee.  However, travel costs and meals are the responsibility of the attendee.

AGENDA (in development)

Agenda topics will include:

• Artificial Intelligence (AI) and EM
• UC EM Mutual Aid 
• UC Santa Barbara Safety Assessment Program, 
• Access and Functional Needs Planning (with Vance Taylor, Cal OES)
• Systemwide “Functional Tabletop” Exercise: Conference attendees will participate in a 3-part exercise (held over 2 days) focused on mutual aid with concurrent emergency scenario

AIRPORT

• Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA):  For greatest convenience, we recommend making reservations with Santa Barbara as your final destination. Flights connect from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Phoenix, and Denver. The UCSB campus is a five-minute drive from the airport. Visit the SB Airport’s official website for further information.

• Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): Connect to UCSB via the Santa Barbara Airbus motorcoach shuttle (visit their website for schedules and reservations). Get off at the Goleta stop.

• Airport/Airbus Shuttles to UCSB: For conference guests staying in UCSB housing, FREE shuttle service is available on arrival and departure days to and from Santa Barbara Airport and Santa Barbara Airbus Goleta Stop. Just phone our front desk for pickup up.

DIRECTIONS
UCSB is easily accessible from highway US-101. (Note when using maps websites, there is no proper street address for UCSB; you can get directions by entering zip code 93106.)

PARKING (read carefully)

• Loma Pelona Center is a 5-minute walk from Parking Structure 22.
• UC Santa Barbara utilizes the ParkMobile App for parking payment.
• Reciprocity for parking permits from other campuses is available but requires some advanced planning and patience. 
  • For complete information about reciprocity, visit the UC Santa Barbara Transportation & Parking Services website.
  • Applications for UC Santa Barbara parking reciprocity are accepted exclusively at the Parking Services office. Upon applying, you will be asked to present an ID and evidence of your current UC parking status.
  • The hours of the UC Santa Barbara TAPS office are as follows:

MEALS
UC Santa Barbara will be hosting the following meals:
Tuesday: Breakfast, Lunch, and Afternoon Refreshments
Wednesday: Breakfast and Lunch 

Please note that meals provided by UC Santa Barbara are not applicable to travel reimbursements.
Dinner will be on your own.  There will be a group dinner option arranged for Tuesday.

LODGING
UC Santa Barbara is a coastal destination with hotels in high demand.  It was not possible to secure a large block of rooms for this conference, but we offer a list of recommended hotels below, some of which have small blocks or price guarantee. 
To ensure you have a hotel room, please choose your hotel and book it as soon as possible.  
The UC per room/per night lodging cap is $275 excluding taxes/fees (as of 7/24/23).  If a guest needs to cancel their attendance at the conference, they are also responsible for canceling their own individual hotel booking.
