Supervisors must identify hazards, assess risk, establish control measures, and ensure effectiveness of safety programs. In addition, supervisors are responsible for communicating hazards and acquiring permits for use with hazardous materials and/or equipment.

Hazardous materials and equipment

Hazard Communication Standard: Labels and Pictograms (OSHA)
Permits, Registrations, Certifications, and Notifications (Cal/OSHA) are required for work involving:

Training

Supervisors are required to ensure training is completed. This includes conducting a needs assessment, providing training (or arranging for training to be completed), and documenting training records. In addition to general safety training, you must provide work-area specificit training.

Inspections

Supervisors are required to identify hazards and correct unsafe conditions per 8 CCR 3203. Inspection checklists are used to identify hazards . Hazard Correction forms are used to document actions taken. Hazard Report Forms are used to notify others of hazardous conditions.
