Background
Marissa Boles has over 15 years of experience in training and development, instructional design, program management and event planning. She has served in roles such as Instructional Designer & Trainer, Training and Learning Systems Specialist, and Learning & Development Specialist/Coordinator.
Prior to joining UCR, Marissa worked at the University of California, Office of the President (UCPath), California State University, San Bernardino (Risk Management/Environmental Health & Safety and Human Resources), and Azusa Pacific University. Additionally, she has a Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology from Azusa Pacific University and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Thomas Edison State University.
Her expertise includes designing and managing professional development programs, eLearning development, administering learning management systems, and developing training solutions and experiences to support Environmental Health & Safety and Risk Management initiatives.

Description
Marissa participates as a training, education, or instructional design professional in a systemwide program or project. She selects technologies and tools, creates supportive learning activities, and develops new training in response to the University's needs. In collaboration with others, Marissa creates multimedia content and produces according to an established schedule. She analyzes needs and develops recommendations to address a wide range of training issues. Marissa provides the support for testing courses to ensure they are functional, designed for learning in mind, and compliant with learning management systems.
